I have to say a huge thanks to the 1710 X50 bus driver today, who did his very best to get me back to Pershore and continue the route back to Worcester, despite his bus being massively down on power and at times losing all drive. He warned me when I got on that we might not make the 7 mile journey as it was so close to breaking down. I'm sure others would have just turned it off and given up!

I travelled to Worcester on the same bus earlier today, and it had an issue then with a spoken alarm saying the driver should stop and put the handbrake on.

It seems to me that they should have had a bus on standby for just such an issue, and actually it's not like they've got a shortage as most are parked up in the depot. There is no way the driver should have been put in that position at any time, let alone at this time of high risk.
